The string of pearls

When a grain of sand finds its way into an oyster, it troubles the oyster at first. But the oyster covers the grain of sand with layer upon layer of nacre, until ever so slowly that grain of sand becomes a pearl.

In like manner, trials can be the source of beautiful “pearls” in your life. When you choose to accept them and trust Me to make the best of them, little by little over time, I cover over the prickly problem and make something lovely out of it.

Through difficulties I teach you things that you would never be able to learn so well any other way-patience, endurance, faith, optimism, and much more. Every time you trust Me and I bring you through a certain difficulty or phase of life, it brings forth another beautiful pearl. In the end, your life becomes like a full string of magnificent pearls.
